Where are my documents hosted, and how are they stored?
Created & Uploaded Documents
We take the security and confidentiality of your documents very seriously. All documents you create or upload into the platform are hosted on Amazon Web Services (AWS), specifically in Amazon S3 (Simple Storage Service) buckets.
AWS is one of the most trusted cloud storage solutions globally, and S3 buckets offer industry-leading security features such as encryption at rest and in transit, multi-factor authentication, and access control policies to protect your data. Importantly, Amazon does not have access to the contents of your documents while they are stored in S3.
You can read more about Amazon S3’s security features here.
Please note that AWS stores data across multiple global data centers for high availability and redundancy, ensuring your documents are securely stored and accessible when needed. This means there may be instances where data is stored in regions outside Australia, New Zealand, or the UK, depending on AWS’s system architecture.
Access to your documents is limited to the users you have provided access to on your account, the Sprintlaw team, and our suppliers (including contract lawyers and external IT partners), all of whom are bound by strict confidentiality obligations.
If you engage us for legal services via the platform, we will manage your legal files in accordance with our engagement terms available on our website, including making copies of your documents and storing email correspondence in our internal practice management system and Google Workspace account.
AI Features
We also offer optional AI features on the platform, but by default, documents you create or upload will not be shared for AI processing. You can read more about our AI features and associated security measures here.
Sprintlaw Signatures
Similarly, documents you select for eSignature will be hosted by our partner Annature, but will not be otherwise sent to our eSignature system unless you expressly choose to use this feature. You can read more about document security with Sprintlaw Signatures here.
