Does the signing link expire after I send a document for electronic signing?

Yes – by default, the signing link remains active for 7 days after it’s sent.

After this period, the recipient will see a prompt to request a new link, which they can do directly from their email. You don’t need to take any action on your end – this security measure simply helps protect the contents of your document.

If you’d like to extend or shorten the expiry window, you can easily update it when setting up the envelope:

  1. Go to Actions → Set Expiration
  2. Update the expiration date or the number of days until expiry (e.g. 7, 14, 28, 60, or 90 days)
  3. Save your changes before sending the document

This ensures your recipients have the right amount of time to complete their signing while keeping your documents secure.
