What does it mean to use the ACN as the company name?

If you choose to use your ACN (Australian Company Number) as your company name, your company will be registered under a name such as "123 456 789 Pty Ltd" rather than a custom company name.

This can be a good option if you're not yet ready to choose a company name or are still finalising your branding.

Keep in mind that if you decide to change your company name later, ASIC charges a fee to process the change and you'll need to complete additional paperwork. For this reason, we recommend carefully checking your proposed company name and making sure you're happy with it before submitting your registration.
