What if my preferred company name is unavailable?

If your preferred company name isn't available, you'll need to choose a different name for your company registration or you can register your company using its ACN (Australian Company Number) as the company name and update it later if needed.

In some circumstances, you may still be able to register a company with a name that would otherwise be unavailable. For example, if you hold an identical registered business name or have reserved the company name with ASIC, you may be able to provide these details during the application process.
